What to do in CU

Use the links below to find something fun to do in Champaign, Urbana, or the surrounding area:

Weather - For current information or a detailed forecast, check out weather.com or the Wunderground. Try the UIUC Atmospheric Sciences Dept. for current radar and other information.

Music - the Buzz appears to be trying to keep their calendar up to date lately. Openingbands.com has the most up-to-date information about regional music of all genres; alternatively, there is specific information available on jazz in CU. For plays, operas, symphonies, and other high-class entertainment, you probably need to check out the Krannert Center.

Movies - Wanna see a movie? Check out the trailer first. Local theatres include the Beverly 18, the New Art, and the Savoy 16 (links use zap2it.com). The IMDB has tons of information about just about every movie ever made, and you can rent most of them here in town from That's Rentertainment.

Dancing - Whether you dance swing, salsa, tango (in CU, Central Illinois, or Purdue), or ballroom, there's something fun most days of the week. Stay up-to-date with the cu-swing, S-A-L-S-A, learn2salsa, CU Tango, or Dancing Illini mailing lists.

TV - Cable (Heartland, Insight Standard, or Insight Digital), Satellite (C-Band, DirecTV, or Dish Network), or Broadcast (links use TV Guide Online)

U of I - Krannert, This week, Other Calendars

Food - Hungry? There are lots of good restaurants in Champaign-Urbana. You might be able to save some money here, or save some time by eating here. Or find some food for thought at Champaign Taste, a local foodie blog.

Cool off! - From the Urbana Indoor Aquatic Center and Crystal Lake pool to the Indian Acres, Windsor and Aqua Chiefs swim clubs, there are lots of swimming opportunities. The Chamber of Commerce has links to all the details.
