In addition to Volo expanding their network in the community, Volo is working with Gigabit.coop to start an Internet Cooperative in Champaign-Urbana. If you are interested in the cooperative model you can find more information at www.gigabit.coop.

UC2B is an Open Access Internet service provider created through an intergovernmental agreement between the City of Champaign, the City of Urbana, and the University of Illinois. The intergovernmental agreement was awarded over 30 Million dollars to build next generation internet service in Champaign-Urbana. This network does not reach the entire community, but does find its way throughout the entire community. UC2B is currently seeking information about expansion for which Volo intends to reply as well as at least one provider from Ohio.

Volo Broadband’s work with UC2B is a product of their growth and expertise in the realm of fiber network infrastructure. In addition to UC2B, Volo currently provides core support for three other Internet services providers in the area, Urbana School District 116, the City of Urbana, the City of Normal, and the City of Bloomington.
