Director of Sales and Marketing

Volo Internet + Tech, a growing, locally owned and operated internet and technology-services company serving households, neighborhoods, businesses, and institutions across East Central Illinois, seeks a dynamic and highly organized individual to serve as our Sales & Marketing Director. This motivated, outgoing, and detail-oriented team member will serve in an essential management role on the Volo team, working on a macro level to drive planning and strategy and on a micro level to work with team members to implement sales and marketing needs.

Must be adept at working in a fast-paced environment, thrive working both independently and on teams, and enjoy interaction with the public. Experience with graphic design and HTML a plus; familiarity with technical components of an ISP preferred. This is a full-time salaried role with somewhat flexible hours and opportunities for performance bonuses.

Objectives

  • Develop and execute a vibrant sales and marketing plan with strategic goals that elevates and deepens Volo’s visibility in our service region
  • Expand and strengthen relationships with potential new and current internet and technology customers to grow revenues and accounts.

Essential Duties

  • Work with CEO to define growth opportunities and new markets across business, residential, and institutional sectors; work with team to execute internal and external sales and marketing opportunities
  • Develop, define, and implement a sales and marketing program, plan, and strategy with clearly defined goals, tactics, and team assignments for execution to ensure the consistent customer base and service growth
  • Set and track goals, metrics, and KPIs for self and team members to monitor and drive performance across all customer growth and expansion opportunities
  • Proactively research, identify, and contact new business leads and prospects and establish rapport and create relationships with potential and current customers
  • Working with team and needed contractors, develop appropriate sales and marketing tools to elevate Volo visibility, generate interest in Volo products and services, and drive customer growth
  • Proactively drive outreach initiatives and customer communications strategies, including expanding social media engagement, developing company enewsletter and e-marketing, website development and maintenance, print marketing materials, media engagement, and other identified opportunities.
  • Stay on top of new developments in the marketplace and community that could benefit from the services Volo offers.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent, detail-oriented, and compelling written and verbal communications skills
  • Strong sense of visual design—able to create concept, and/or coordinate professional, compelling, and attractive sales materials and guide stylistic choices for other media
  • Outstanding sales and public relations skills, including an attention to detail, friendly and patient demeanor, and a commitment to follow up and follow through; ability to communicate technical information to non-technical audiences
  • Ability to quickly and proficiently understand and absorb new information about our services and strong aptitude for translating information into compelling customer-focused communications
  • Proven knowledge of the principles, best practices, and methods for sales and marketing across all standard platforms and proven capacity for successfully implementing marketing strategies and tactics and sales techniques
  • Outstanding planning, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to capably multitask several ongoing projects managed across multiple tracking platforms
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Docs, and social media platforms. Experience with graphic design a plus, including Adobe Creative Suite and Canva

Desired Skills/Abilities:

  • Knowledge of HTML a plus; familiarity with technical components of an ISP preferred
  • Documented abilities and quick study talents on new software, programs, and systems
  • Experience with Slack and specialized/proprietary tracking, reporting, and communications systems

Benefits & Pay

$50,000-$70,000 based on experience. Opportunities for flexible scheduling and bonus performance pay, paid sick leave, paid overtime, SIMPLE IRA, and HSA.
